Eric Brown, LCPC, takes great pride in the direct patient care he provides through Spectrum Behavioral Health. His breadth of experience helps residents of New Lenox and Hinsdale, Illinois, find meaningful improvement in a number of mental and behavioral health conditions.
Education has always been an essential part of Eric’s personal path. He began his studies at Governor’s State University in University Park, Illinois, where he earned a Master of Health Science in addiction studies and a Master of Arts in clinical psychology.
Eric went on to complete post-graduate work at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. He remains committed to exploring the latest developments in psychology and mental health research and practice.
One of Eric’s areas of professional focus is acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). This therapeutic approach invites individuals to acknowledge and explore all of their emotions, including those perceived as negative. This allows a reframing that empowers people to take concrete steps to enhance their lives.
Eric also brings a wealth of experience in couples counseling, chemical dependency, domestic violence, and many other common mental health concerns. He enjoys working with those in his care to set goals and work toward measurable improvements.
